Lilly C. Morrison was born on March 22, 1867 at LeSueur, Minnesota and was united in marriage to Elmer G. Hartew in 1889. About ten years later, the family homesteaded near Dean Lake and later located in Aitkin. In late years, Mrs. Hartew had lived in Tacoma, Washington, and while visiting her daughter, Mrs. Eugene Mora, at Bozeman, Montana, this spring was taken ill. She was removed to Deerood on May 24, with the hope that the lower altitude would prove beneficial.
Shortly after Mrs. Hartew's death, word came from Great Falls, Montana, that her son-in-law, George Sparty, had passed away.
