One of the most difficult aspects, for me, once the diagnosis of MS was made was the feeling of isolation and fear of what was inevitable down the road. As a Registered Nurse with a medical background I had cared for several patients with MS, and feared the dependency and disability that I knew were facing me in the future. At the time of my diagnosis, I knew of so few resources available. Now, however, there is a larger well to draw from. This may be due to the exposure through the media to the plight of those suffering from MS because of the celebrities who have developed MS, and their willingness to champion the cause.
