My dear sister,

I must write a few words about my little girl. I am glad she does not appear home sick and I'm real pleased it must have been a great sacrifice for you to part with her. She is more capable than I expected she would be as you have never written about her being the smartest and most wonderful show of this generation. I am so glad she is a little girl too in her way and I love to curl her hair and her hair is exactly the color of mine in the back but mine is darker in front where it isn't gray. What do you think of my little boy? I do not suppose he is as pretty appearing as a little girl but Ira had too many little ones together to get the time to teach one anything. Mabel takes right to the baby and teaches him lots of cute things. She has so much better taste about arranging things than I that I expect my house will be beautified considerable pretty soon, I hope you are getting along nicely with your work now in your new home. I have got over the neuralgia by having another tooth out. My best love to all,

write soon,

Hattie
